This was the first year our family participated in the Third Annual Green Valley Pecan Festival. It was lots of fun and I already look forward to next year.
The day started with Allen and I running in the Pecan Classic. We signed up for the 3.7 mile and had a great time. We brought the double jogging stroller and Allen was a trooper and pushed the girls the majority of the time. Elsie said she wanted to run so she ran at the beginning until she was "tired" and wanted to ride in the stroller. After about a minute, and every minute then on, she said she wanted to run again. We let her run at the end where she could see the finish line. She ran for about 10 seconds and said she was "tired" and wanted to get back in the stroller. The joy of this run, besides being able to run with Allen, was being able to run in the pecan groves. It was so beautiful.
Instead of paying for close parking we opted for taking the shuttle. We parked at town hall and the school buses were doing the shuttle service. It was free and the girls LOVED riding on the bus.
Every festival we go to in town(I think it averages to every other month) there is always a jumping house and it is the first place the girls want to go. This is one of the few times you see Alice standing up in a jump house. If she can hold on to something she is okay. Otherwise, she enjoys being bounced around on her belly. Can you see Elsie mid air in the back ground of the picture?
The girls did a great job holding still for the face painting. Elsie has a little more patience than Alice so she got a unicorn and Alice got hearts.
I love pictures like this. They are both smiling standing next to each other like they enjoy being sisters.
We sat and listened to a musical entertainer for children before we got back on the bus to our car to go home.

Very fun! It still amazes me how your girls have quite the opposite of hair!
